Recently I had the opportunity to visit Fly-park in Radlin, Poland. Fly-Park is a franchise trampoline based FEC, their Radlin branch occupies approx. 7,000 square metres. Which is an above average space for trampoline parks across Europe.

I first connected with Fly-Park at a trade show IAAPA hosted in Barcelona. The Fly-Park team expressed interest in discovering new options for attractions that may help optimize space, diversify their current offering and attract additional customer groups.

Fly-park mostly appeals to younger children and families. Zone helped explore the topic of creating new opportunities within Fly-Park's current customer base. How laser tag, might just be the thing that creates appeal to teenagers, young adults, corporate groups and personal events such as birthday parties and pre wedding events.

Unlike other attractions that provide physical stimulation, laser tag combines movement, strategy, teamwork, and competition. Depending on the game, players are given a clear objective, creating a highly engaging experience, that encourages patrons to repeat visits.

A Natural Fit for FEC’s, modern trampoline parks have invested heavily into themed environments, visual effects and immersive experiences. Zone Laser Tag compliments this perfectly, you can think of as the ‘Mercedes Benz’ of the laser tag world.

At Zone Laser Tag, we provide complete turn-key solutions that include not only the equipment used by patrons. But also have additional options such as interactive targets, special effects, arena design, lighting, sound systems, and game customization.

The options for FEC operators are endless, in order to create an attraction that feels like a signature core offering, integrating seamlessly into their existing venue.

While trampoline parks remain popular across Europe, operators are often familiar with the reality that physical attractions can lead to occasional injuries.

Laser Tag offers safety within an activity due to it’s nature of involving lower impact movements, suitable for a wide range of customer groups, including children over the age of 5, teenagers, adults, families and corporate groups.

Zone offers a comprehensive list of adaptations, enhancing the gaming experience to suit different audiences.

Most people associate laser tag with combat-style games. Zone currently offers more than 60 different games, including variations in game format, ranging from team challenges and objective based experiences.

One of the most beneficial aspects of employing laser tag for trampoline parks, is the efficient use of space.

A quality laser tag arena can operate within as little as 150 square metres, while larger venues can extend beyond 1,000 metres.

For comparison most trampoline parks across Europe, occupy between 2,000 and 5,000 square metres, meaning many facilities already have space available to potentially be repurposed or optimized.

One of the biggest challenges facing trampoline FEC’s today is repeat business. Laser tag naturally supports repeat visitation because of the diversity in each game. Different teams, strategies, objectives and game modes create a fresh and lasting experience each time.

Laser tag offers a higher volume of patrons in comparison to trampoline parks, as a typical trampoline session lasts one hour, whereas a laser tag game lasts between 12 and 15 minutes. This creates the opportunity for multiple groups per hour, increasing revenue potential.

Installations of laser tag, by Zone typically consist of 300-350 square metre arenas designed for 24 players. Based on operational data from existing venues fitted out by Zone, operators commonly achieve a return on investment, within a year of purchasing the installation

In Fly-Park Radlin’s unique situation, there happens to be no competition, in terms of other FEC’s offering laser tag, however, if competition does exist, Zone stands second to none in comparison to other laser tag providers.

As the FEC industry continues to evolve, operators are searching for ways to maximise the value of their existing footprint whilst appealing to other demographics.

Laser tag has become one of the most effective ways to achieve both goals.

If you’re operating a trampoline park, FEC or indoor leisure venue and are considering if laser tag might be the right fit for you, increasing customer retention, broadening demographic appeal. Maybe it’s best to talk to an expert who can point you in the right direction.

How much additional revenue and customer engagement, could it generate for your business?
